Work in DDC affected

SANKHUWASABHA: Service seekers in Sankhuwasabha district have been deprived of service from the District Development Committee as Local Development Officer Yubaraj Subedi, chief of the DDC has been absent for more than a week.

Citing that he had personal work, Subedi had left for Biratnagar a week ago, informed a DDC staffer. He also said that daily tasks of the office had been affected due to the chief's absence.

Subedi had given the responsibility of the acting DDC chief to Laxmi Prasad Niraula, project and administrative chief at the DDC.

"However, it is difficult to carry the daily tasks as Subedi did not give the authority to Niraula to look after major economic activities," the DDC source said. Subedi had also gone to Kathmandu citing official work on March 15. He stayed in Kathmandu for 47 days and had resumed office on May 3. However, he left for Biratnagar on May 7.

"If the LDO had official work, he would not need so many days to stay out of the office," a DDC staff complained.

The staffs at the DDC also accused LDO Subedi of staying at his home in Kathmandu saying that he had official work.
