KATHMANDU, APRIL 2

World Autism Awareness Day is being observed today with various programmes across the country.

The Day was designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 2007 to promote awareness and inclusion of autistic individuals.

This year's theme, "Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value," emphasises dignity, inclusion and equal opportunities for autistic people as part of a shared global future.

In a message, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said autistic individuals, like everyone else, should be able to shape their own lives and contribute to society.
