Chitwan, July 19:

Mahendra Yadav was today elected chairperson of the NC (D)-affiliated Nepal Tarun Dal today.

He polled 232 votes out of 533 votes cast in the third convention of the NTD that started here on Monday.

Twenty-six central members were elected.

They include Kamal Shah, Krishna Dutta Paneru, and Gopal Deuba from Far West; Sudip Narasingh Rana, Niranjan KC and Janmajaya Timilsina from Mid- West; Govinda Pangeni, Yam Bahadur Gurung and Bidwan Gurung from Western Region; Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal, Min Krishna Maharjan and Udaya Shamsher Rana from Central Region; Sanjaya Shrestha, Padam Palunga and Sunil Shrestha from Eastern Region.

Bhaktadhoj Bohara was elected for the zonal panel.
