KATHMANDU, APRIL 28
The Yari Customs Office in northern Humla has resumed operations after a four-month closure.
The office had been closed since December 25 due to extreme cold and heavy snowfall. Customs services resumed following the return of Office Chief Ramraj Jaisi to Hilsa.
"The office was officially closed after notifying the Customs Department, as snow had begun accumulating in the area. Operations resumed from Sunday," Chief Jaisi stated.
Currently, the road section remains completely blocked due to winter snowfall. However, transportation services are expected to resume soon, as the Hilsa-Simikot Road Project has begun clearing the snow.
Once transport services are restored, the import of goods from Taklakot is also expected to resume.
