Dolpa, May 22
Collection of Yarsagumba (Ophiocordyceps sinensis) or the caterpillar fungus in Dolpa district will be open for the public from coming May 25.
The decision was made by an all party meeting convened by the District Coordination Committee Dolpa on Saturday.
The meeting, chaired by DCC Chief Sher Bahadur Budha at the district headquarters Dunai, was held with the participation of the chief representatives of various district bodies.
It has decided to allow collection of the Yarshagumba in Shey-phoksundo National Park and various community forests until June 24.
Stating that the public has not been able to collect Yarsagumba for a long time due to COVID-19 pandemic, this time it has been made opened for about a month.
Residents of the buffer zone, within the district and outside the district will be charged different entrance fees for Yarsa collection as per the National Parks Act and regulations.
