YCL cadres capture royalists’ properties

Biratnagar, October 10:

Cadres of Morang unit of the Young Communist League today tarred the face of former district development committee chairman during royal regime Ballav Dahal.

The YCL cadres reached his house at Biratnagar-4 this afternoon and captured him before smearing his face black. Confirming the incident, Morang police immediately reached the incident site and rescued him. Morang Superintendent of Police Yogendra Katuwal said the police removed YCL flags planted in the houses of former deputy prime minister Badri Prasad Mandal and former chief secretary Lok Man Singh Karki this evening.

The YCL cadres seized Mandal’s house at Biratnagar-11 and former chief secretary Karki’s house at Biratnagar-3 Painichowk this afternoon after planting flags.

The Morang YCL had announced yesterday that they would take action against those indicted by the Rayamajhi Commission.

The Morang YCL said they would initiate actions and seize properties of 24 persons in Morang, Sunsari and Jhapa, including that of former DIG in Morang Dwarika Shrestha,

former city mayor Prahlad Shah, former chief secretary Lok Man Singh Karki, chief district secretary Madhav Regmi, former district development committee vice chairman Shailendra Bahadur Basnet, Sadbhavana’s Yadubansha Shah, Rudra Kharel and Laxmi Raj Bhakta Nepali.
