YCL cadres set ablaze 3 vehicles
Biratnagar, February 2:
The Maoist-affiliated Young Communist League (YCL) cadres set on fire two Indian trucks and a car in Jhapa and Morang districts today.
YCL cadres said the action was taken to protest against the arrest of their cadres in Mahespur area of Jhapa district along the India-Nepal border.
The arrested Young Communist League cadres were released today by the Indian Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB).
YCL cadres set fire to an Indian truck heading to Biratnagar from the Biratnagar Customs Office carrying chicken feed at Roadshesh Chowk in Biratnagar at 7am today, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bidhyananda Majhi said, adding that four YCL cadres — Mukit Magar, Papu Khan, Ramesh Murmu and Chandra Dhital — were arrested in
connection with the incident.
Earlier, the Young Communist League cadres set fire to an Indian car at Birtamod of Jhapa at 5:30 am today and a truck at Kakarvitta in Jhapa last night, Biratnagar-based Eastern Regional Police Office said.
Meanwhile, the Morang district police office has started plying Indian vehicles under police escort.
