DHANGADHI: A youth has been arrested on the charge of raping a seven year old girl in Achham.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Janak Bahadur Shahi of the District Police Office, the 18-year-old from Kamalbazaar Muncipality-5 was arrested on Sunday.

The incident apparently took place on September 19. However, the victim revealed information regarding the same to her family only on Saturday (October 20), following which her father has filed a report at the police office.

The police arrested the alleged perpetrator on basis of the minor’s father’s complaint.

According to the complainant, the little girl was raped in the Nawasain forest while herding her cattle.

The police are yet to reveal information about the alleged perpetrator.
