Police have arrested a 21-year-old man with 10 kilograms of marijuana from Lalbandi Municipality in Sarlahi district.
According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, the suspect Som Tamang of Lalbandi–11 Bahuni Tole was detained on Thursday night at around 11 pm.
He was travelling on a motorcycle (Ba 47 Pa 8664) when a police team from Pathar police post intercepted him based on special tip-off.
Police recovered the marijuana while checking vehicles and pedestrians on the Patharkot–Jiyajor road section, following reports of illegal transportation of more than 10 kilograms of the drug.
Information officer and DSP Saroj Rai said a case related to cannabis trafficking has been registered against Tamang.
Police have obtained 10 days of remand from the Sarlahi District Court, and further investigation is underway at the Area Police Office, Lalbandi.
