SARLAHI, MARCH 17
A youth was stripped and brutally beaten at a park near the famous Chameli Mai Temple in Kabillasi Municipality, Sarlahi, prompting police action. One suspect has been arrested, while the search for other perpetrators continues.
The incident occurred on Falgun 23 around 4:00 PM at the Fun Park behind Chameli Mai Temple. The victim, 19-year-old Pramit Kumar Yadav of Chakrghatta Rural Municipality–9, suffered severe injuries during the attack.
A video of the assault went viral, and Pramit's family filed a complaint with the District Police Office, Sarlahi. Based on the complaint, police arrested Rohit Kumar Yadav and filed cases under attempt to murder, abusive and inhuman behavior, and grievous assault, effective from Falgun 29.
According to DSP Saroj Rai, the accused has been remanded for five more days by the Sarlahi District Court as investigation continues. Police have intensified efforts to apprehend other suspects involved in the attack.
The victim is currently receiving hospital treatment. Preliminary investigation suggests that the assault was triggered by abusive messages exchanged on mobile phones.
The case has shocked the local community and raised concerns about youth safety and public security in the area.
