Youth held for raping elderly woman in Dolakha
DOLAKHA: A 32-year-old man has been sent to judicial custody on the charge of raping a 71-year-old woman in Sailung Rural Municipality-1 of Dolakha district, on Thursday.
A single bench of justice Tej Bahadur Khadka made the decision to this effect to send Dil Bahadur Tamang of Dudhpokhari of Sailung Rural Municipality-1 to custody today.
According to District Police Office, Dolakha, Dil Bahadur Tamang brutally raped the septuagenarian, who has been living alone in a makeshift hut since the devastating earthquake, on the night of September 18.
After the incident, the victim shared the incident with her neighbours. Subsequently, the villagers apprehended the suspect and handed him over to nearby police station for further investigation.
Finally, police filed a case at the government attorney's office, on Monday, after conducting an investigation into the case. From there the case was filed at the District Court on Tuesday.
Rajan Hamal, joint attorney at the Government Attorney Office, Dolakha, said, "A case has been filed demanding stern action against the accused as per the Muluki Criminal (Code) Act, 2017."
