LAHAN, SIRAHA: A woman who was attacked by her son on Wednesday, succumbed to injuries last night in Laxmipur Patari Rural Municipality-4 of Siraha district.

According to police, Ram Das (28) of Laxmipur Patari-4 had allegedly struck his mother Gyan Devi Das (45) and sister Sunita Kumari (16) with an iron rod over a family dispute on Wednesday.

Having serious injuries in the head, Gyan Devi died during the course of treatment at the Biratnagar-based Nobel Hospital, while Sunita Kumari has been undergoing treatment there, said the Area Police Office, Laxmipur.

Meanwhile, the accused has been arrested while the investigation into the case is underway, informed police.
