Youths arrested for forging credentials
CHITWAN: Police made 10 youths, who were arrested on the charge of producing fake credentials, public at a press meet organised in District Police Office, Chitwan, today.
The police had arrested ten staffers of Namaste Stationery Centre of Sahidchowk, and A to Z Printing and Graphic Centre, of Balkumari Road, Bharatpur, after they were found involved in making fake documents of government and private companies, fake stamps and false signatures, among others.
Operator of Namaste Stationery Dillip Shrestha, 30, along with his staffers Binod Shrestha, 24, Pratima Shrestha, 22, Sijan Joshi, 19, Labin Joshi, 17, Safal Chuke, 19, of Bharatpur, and Afajal Miya, 21, of Kabilash VDC were arrested.
Similarly, Dharmapal BK, 27, operator of A to Z Printing and Graphic Centre, along with his staffers Hemanta Shrestha, 27, of Bharatpur and Shiva Thapa, 25, of Phinam, Gorkha, were arrested on the charge of forging documents.
SP Sahakul Bahadur Thapa of District Police Office said the police team had acted on a tip-off and arrested the group from their offices.
The arrested were found involved in the production of fake licence, citizenship certificate, student identity card, recommendation letter, recommendation letters of different VDCs, fake documents related to VAT, Notary Public, stamps of different offices and organisations, among others.
SP Thapa said the police team confiscated the materials which were being used for making the illegal documents from the shops. He added that investigation into the case would be carried out soon and action against the arrested would be taken under the law of land.
The arrested are said to have been making such credentials for people seeking foreign employment. Police suspect that the group has been producing fake licences and bill books in nexus with the staff of Transportation Management Office.
