Yugkabi’s bust unveiled

Rastrakabi Madhav Prasad Ghimire unveiled a bust of Yugkabi Siddhicharan Shrestha at Mirchaiya, adjoining Mahendra Highway in Siraha, amidst a function recently. Addressing the function, the Rastrakabi said the contribution of Adikabi Bhanubhakta, Mahakabi Laxmi Prasad Devkota, Kabi Shiromani Lekh Nath Poudyal and Yugkabi Siddhicharan Shrestha is unparalleled in the history of Nepali literature. Prose writer Prof Dr Madhav Prasad Pokharel described the late poet as the heartbeat of Nepali poetry.
Senior story writer Dr Dhruba Chandra Gautam said the Yugkabi is a great inspiration to writers and litterateurs. At the programme presided over by chairman of the Yugkabi Statue Construction Committee Shreeram Saha, former MP Dharma Nath Saha and chief district officer Deepak Joshi shed light on the contribution of the late poet Siddhicharan Shrestha to the development of Nepali literature.
