11 complaints against judges under JC probe
KATHMANDU: The Judicial Council (JC) formed a one-member probe committee under the Supreme Court Justice Tapa Bahadur Magar on Tuesday to investigate 11 complaints lodged against judges of the appellate courts and district courts, according to, JC secretary Jivan Hari Adhikary. However it decided that there was no need to probe the other 44 complaints against the same.
The JC decision comes after two days of marathon consultations among its members on Monday and Tuesday which have been pending for long. Chief Justice Ram Prasad Shrestha heads the JC. CJ Shrestha, Law and Justice Minister Prem Bahadur Singh, Senior Justice Khil Raj Regmi and members Moti Kaji Sthapit and Basudev Dhungana were present in today’s meeting.
Erstwhile chief justices Min Bahadur Rayamajhi and Anup Raj Sharma had begun the investigation process.
