DPM for roping in Maoists to govt
KATHMANDU: DPM Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar said Saturday he is ever willing to forfeit his post of the Deputy Prime Minister provided the major opposition UCPN-Maoist joins the coalition government.
Speaking at an inaugural function of the first convention and general assembly of the Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs in the capital, Gachhadar said the timely drafting of the statue is an impossibility without a national government and therefore he would not mind giving up his post for that greater cause.
Gachhadar, also the chairman of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik), stressed the need of national consensus at this crucial phase of the country’s socio-political transformation.
At the function, the Federation chairman Arun Dhakal and general secretary Gyanendra Kumar Shrestha called upon the deputy prime minister’s attention to ensuring rights of the transport entrepreneurs by promulgating a separate Act.
