India injects Rs. 5 crore aid into education sector

KATHMANDU: Indian ambassador Rakesh Sood handed over NRs. 5.37 crores on Wednesday for schools in Syangja District and laid the foundation stone for a new building to be constructed.

The school buildings which have been granted the assistance are Galyang Multiple Campus, Graho Ghyaling Primary Health Centre and Shree Janata Secondary School.

The buildings would be built with the assistance of the Government of India under the India Cooperation Programme.

Sood said that extensive development is being implemented under the umbrella of India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme.

Under the programme, more than 370 projects are being realised in the sectors of education, health, community development and infrastructure covering almost all the districts of Nepal with an outlay of over NRs. 5600 crores.
