GORKHA: Labourers of Gorakhkali Rubber Industries on Wednesday protested against the appointment of Hari Kafle, a leader of the CPN-UML as director of the Industry.

A meeting held by the labourers on March 30 made a decision to prevent the entry of the new director into the factory premises. At least 400 labourers attended the meeting.

Krishna Pokharel, president of All Nepal Trade Union Gorkha district unit and labour leaders at the factory said that the factory would not be closed but the director would not be allowed to enter the factory.

The Gorakhkali Rubber Industry has been in financial doldrums due to which it was closed on several occasions in the past.
