DHANGADHI: Cadres of All Nepal Squatters Association affiliated with the main opposition party UCPN-Maoist has vandalised the CPN-UML protest rally led by its general secretary Ishwor Pokharel in Dudejhari, Kailali on Friday.

The UML had organised the protest rally against the Maoist attack on their cadres in different parts of the country. Around 300 Maoist cadres attacked the programme with batons when Pokharel was addressing the meeting. Security has been beefed up in the area.

Around the same time, the Maoist CA members had also organised a blanket distribution programme for around 2600 squatters living in Janakalyan Community Forest in Dudejhari area.

At least five squatters and a policeman were killed during the eviction drive from the forest earlier.
