MJF intensifies demand for govt ouster
BIRATNAGAR: Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (MJF) on Tuesday demanded the ouster of the incumbent government led by CPN- UML.
The party claimed that the government cannot promulgate the constitution on time and take the peace process to a logical conclusion.
MJF joint coordinator Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta said, "As the government cannot promulgate the constitution on time and take the peace process to a logical conclusion, the PM has to resign at the earliest so as to pave the way for the formation of a national government.”
He said that the government turned a deaf ear to implement the past agreements including the 22 point agreement and 8 point agreement reached with the Madhesi parties on different dates.
Alleging that the three big parties were unable to take the peace process to a logical conclusion and end the political deadlock, Gupta said, “As the big three failed to accomplish these talks, any agreement reached among them will not be acceptable to our party.”
As a part of the second phase of the third Madhes stir, MJF has staged sit-in protests in front of the District Administration Offices in 20 Terai districts today, he said.
According Gupta, the party will stage a torch rally tomorrow and it has also called a two-day Madhes bandh starting from April 8.
MJF leaders including chairman Upendra Yadav and joint coordinator Gupta are participating in a sit-in protest that has been organised in front of the Morang District Administration Office in Biratnagar today.
The sit-in protest that started at 10 am will end at 5 pm, Gupta added.
