Most Wanted in police net
KATHMANDU: One of the most wanted criminals, Dinesh Adhikari, alias 'Chari' (24) who surrendered to the police on Tuesday was made public in a press meet in the capital on Wednesday.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the Metropolitan Police Range, Hanuman Dhoka, SP Nawa Raj Silwal said he had no option left but to turn himself in to the police as the law enforcement agencies closed in on him.
Adhikari, who hails from Tripureshwor-6 of Dhading, is implicated in a number of cases related with extortion, abduction and armed robbery over the past few years, Silwal said.
He surrendered to the police after an intense manhunt was carried out to track down his hideout, the police said.
Meanwhile, Kathmandu District Court on Wednesday has remanded him to a 7-day judicial custody for further investigation under the Arms and Ammunition Act.
