Nepal sets lofty 272 run target for Malaysia

KATHMANDU: Nepal set a target of 272 runs for Malaysia in the first semi-final match of the ongoing the ACC Trophy Elite 2010 tournament at Hubara Cricket Ground in Kuwait on Wednesday.

Sarad narrowly missed a century with a mere three runs, scoring 97 runs and Gyanendra missed a half-century by one run to post a total of 271 runs in the allotted 50 overs.

Malaysia elected to field after winning the toss. Nepali batsmen put up an impressive performance scoring 271 runs with the loss of six wickets.

Earlier, Shakti scored 52, Mahesh chipped 43 runs while skipper Paras and opener Anil were out scoring 2 and 4 runs respectively.
