PM dismisses signature campaign rumours

KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Party meeting of the government-led party CPN-UML scheduled for Sunday was postponed at the eleventh hour.

The postponement comes as a relief for Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal following reports of a signature campaign by his party parliamentarians for his resignation. However, UML chairman Jhalanath Khanal refuted such reports during a party programme in Bhaktapur on Saturday.

Emerging from this morning’s meeting with President Dr Ram Baran Yadav to brief him on the Legislative-Parliament winter session scheduled for Sunday and the latest political situation, the PM also denied any signature campaign.
