KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Youth and Sports in Kamal Pokhari faced the wrath of irate players and officials of the Taekwondo struggle committee on Sunday over a report by the committee headed by Rana Bahadur Shrestha, joint secretary of the Ministry.

The struggle committee members vandalised the Ministry offices including Shrestha's to express their dissatisfaction. The committee under Shrestha had been formed to probe the matter relating to barring players from the selection for Youth Olympics.

Disgruntled players have been demanding that Nepal pull out of Youth Olympics, action against those behind the rejection of players, transparency in the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC), proper compensation to players and associations, clear policy on participation in major sporting events and classification of sports among others.
