KATHMANDU: All private and government schools remained closed in the Valley due to a strike called by Nepal Educational Republican Forum (NERF) to pressurise the government to implement the past agreement on Sunday.

Hom Bahadur Thapa, president of Nepal Institutional School Teachers' Union (ISTU) said that teachers also submitted a memorandum to the Ministry of Education. The memorandum demands scrapping of the Company Act for private schools and guarantee of salary to teachers as per the government scale.
