CREDOS: Mind and body — V
The only way to lead a happy and healthy life is to live spiritually and to confront the universal truth through Dhyan yoga. With the help of Dhyan yoga, we can acquire patience, self-confidence, self-control and spirituality. Sans spiritual knowledge, all our fortunes will turn into misfortune.
Bliss, reached through meditation, is the ecstasy that is beyond the emotions of happiness and grief. Happiness should be our habit, not sadness; love our religion, not anger and envy. Let me put forward an apt example here. During a research carried out in Japan some time ago, two ditches of similar shape were carved out. Water was poured, and a fish each was kept in the two. An iron pillar was implanted in one, while the other was left untouched. After two months it was found that the fish of the ditch with the iron pillar had grown much bigger than the one in the ditch with no pillar, though both fishes were equally cared for.
Since the fish of the first ditch could circumnavigate the pillar, its balanced development was possible. But the fish in the second was directionless. Hence, it could not develop properly. Therefore, for the growth and development of living organisms, a centre around which their lives can revolve is needed. We see that all beautiful arrangements of nature have a particular centre, like that of the nine planets is sun; likewise human beings need to have a particular aim in life. The goal will act as a centre point around which our lives can revolve. (Concluded)
