Foul play
That spurious bottled water could pose a threat to health should make the common man wary about what they drink. Normally, it is assumed that such water is safe to drink without having to boil or filter it. However, there is news now that the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control (DFTQT) is taking action against several industries found to be selling spurious bottled water. These days we have seen a splurge of different brands of bottled water. The bottled water business is flourishing because of the trickle flowing from the mains. Consumers these days are increasingly taking to bottled water.
But some unscrupulous industries have been found to be selling spurious bottled water. Apart from the harm it is doing to the health of those who drink such water, it has damaged the confidence associated with such water, also known as mineral water. This has given a bad name to the industry as a whole. There are many industries that painstakingly work to ensure that their water meets the safety standard at par with international standards. Now that we find that adulterated bottled water is also being sold in the market, there is every need for DFTQT to be on their toes to nab those selling such foul water.
