KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 25

People carry a chariot around the Boudhanath Stupa, UNESCO World Heritage Site, during Mamla Jatra, on Saturday.

Every year on the day of Magha Purnima, there is a custom of Jatra by keeping the statue of Maam in Khat. Hundreds of pilgrims, from children to the elderly, participate in the festival.

One such ritual is the Mamla Jatra where Boudha residents worship Ma Ajima, protector-goddess of the Boudha stupa during the full moon.
