KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 15

People carry a chariot around the Boudhanath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, during Mamla Jatra in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Every year, on the day of Magha Purnima, devotees uphold the tradition of carrying the statue of Maam in a Khat (a ceremonial palanquin) as part of the Jatra.

Hundreds of pilgrims, from children to the elderly, take part in this vibrant festival. Mamla Jatra is a significant ritual where the residents of Boudha worship Ma Ajima, the protector goddess of Boudhanath Stupa, under the full moon.
