KATHMANDU, MARCH 22

The process to expand the Suryabinayak-Dhulikhel road under the Araniko Highway has begun.

The government has started expanding the Suryabinayak-Dhulikhel road section is 15.8 km into a four-lane road in full swing 25 years after starting the expansion work.

This road is being expanded as the section from Suryabinayak to Dhulikhel is narrow and traffic jams have increased along this vital route.

Suryabinayak of Bhaktapur to Dhulikhel of Kavrepalanchowk along the Araniko Highway had started since last March.

A contract of Rs 3 billion 889.3 million has been awarded for the widening of 7.5-km road from Suryabinayak to Sanga, while a contract of Rs 4 billion 56.4 million has been awarded for the expansion of Sanga-Dhulikhel road.
