KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 12
The Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA) has directed all insurance companies to quickly and smoothly process claims related to losses from the September 8–9 unrest.
The notice issued by NIA Director Kundan Sapkota said life insurers have been urged to prioritize settlements for policyholders facing major property damage and hardship caused by demonstrations and vandalism.
The Authority has also asked companies to submit weekly updates on claims linked to the recent incidents, which resulted in significant loss of life and property nationwide.
