KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 5
The Muktinath area in Waragung Muktikshetra Rural Municipality–1 of Mustang has been blanketed in snow following recent snowfall, turning the sacred landscape into a striking white panorama. Villages within the Muktikshetra area, including Jharkot, Khinga, Purang, Jhong, Ranipauwa, and the surroundings of the Muktinath Temple are covered in fresh snow, enhancing the region's natural and spiritual appeal.
Adding life to the wintry scenery, athletes were seen skiing on snow-covered slopes near Muktinath on Thursday. The area is currently hosting ski training sessions in preparation for a national ski competition, with players practicing on the steep, snow-laden hillsides of the Muktikshetra region.
Similarly, Upper Manang has also been transformed by snowfall. Snow blankets Bharka village, chortens, and roads in Nisyang Rural Municipality–5, Manang, presenting a serene and picturesque winter landscape in the high Himalayas.
