76ers rally for overtime triumph over Bulls
PHILADELPHIA: Elton Brand scored 26 points and Andre Iguodala added 25 points with eight rebounds and eight assists as Philadelphia rallied for a 106-103 NBA overtime triumph over Chicago.
Willie Green, playing in pace of All-Star Allen Iverson, added 15 points for the 76ers.
Iverson, who is averaging 14.4 points since his return to Philadelphia this season, missed the contest because one of his children is sick. He was expected to return on Friday when the Sixers play at New Orleans.
Lou Williams had 14 points, while Samuel Dalembert chipped in 10 points with 13 rebounds for the Sixers, who earned a rare home win to take their home record to 8-16.
Dalembert, a native of Haiti, said he plans to visit the Caribbean country during the upcoming All-Star break. It will be his second trip there since Haiti was devastated by an earthquake in January.
Chicago's Derrick Rose scored 13 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter and overtime. Luol Deng and John Salmons had 17 apiece for Chicago, whose five-game road winning streak came to an end.
All five of those victories came against teams with winning records - an NBA record.
Rose drained two free throws to tie the score at 98-98 with 1:41 remaining in overtime.
On Philadelphia's next possession, Iguodala hit a three-pointer, and after a miss from Rose Green made a jump shot to give the 76ers a 103-98 lead with 50.8 seconds left, and the hosts held on for the victory.
Iguodala had the opportunity to put Philadelphia ahead with 6.7sec remaining in regulation, but he made one free throw and missed another to knot the score at 94-94.
Brand missed a jump shot, then Rose had a final chance for Chicago that fell short.
