Aaha Gold Cup from Jan 26
POKHARA: The eighth edition of the Aaha Gold Cup in Pokhara is slated for January 26 to February 6 next year, the organisers Sahara Club of Pokhara said here today.
A total of 12 teams are on the fray for one of the reputed football tournaments outside Kathmandu Valley. Unlike the previous year, The organisers are preparing to field a joint squad — Sahara Pokhara and Sahara Club of UK — for the first time in the tournament, informed the club President Bikram Thakali.
Along with the 'A' Division clubs of Nepal, teams from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Eastern
and Western Region will fight for the title at the Pokhara Stadium.
However, the teams participation is still left to be confirmed, informed the organisers.
The champions will bag a purse of Rs 175,000 and the runner up will take home Rs 75,000.
Likewise, the best player will earn a motorbike and the highest scorer will receive Rs 15,000.
The best striker, mid-fielder, defender, goalkeeper and coach will also get their share of cash prizes, said the organisers.
