Lama wins race

KATHMANDU: Aashish Lama won the third Run for North Kathmandu here on Sunday.

In the open category, Lama clocked 30 minutes and 10 seconds to complete the 8.5-km race. Rabin Khanal came second with a timing of 33 minutes and 41 seconds, while Suraj Pun Magar finished third in 34 minutes and 39 seconds.

In boys’ section race which was also of the same distance, Raj Kumar Magar of Kavresthali School won gold after completing the distance in 36 minutes and eight seconds. Raj Kumar Ghale of Kalikasharan School bagged second position in 37 minutes and nine seconds, while Arjun Gautam of Nepal Rastriya HS School was third in 37 minutes and 18 seconds. In girls’ category, Bimala Balami off Shree Nagarjun School took 45 minutes to win the title. Prithvi Narayan HS School’s Sita Putuwar (48:49) and Deepa Adhikari (51:00:02) came second and third respectively. The top three athletes in all events received Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.

North Kathmandu Development Initiatives and Tarkeshwor Municipality jointly organised the race.
