Acme top Sagarmatha, Don Bosco advance

Lalitpur, June 15:
Acme Engineering College beat Sagarmatha Multiple College by 74 runs and Kathmandu Don Bosco College beat Campion Kathmandu by five wickets to advance to the quarter-finals at the 3rd KCC Running Trophy Inter-college cricket tournament, which has been organised by Kantipur City College (KCC) Sports Club. The Himalayan Times is the official media of the event.
In the first match, Electing to bat first, Acme scored 141/6 in 25 overs. Saroj Basnet top-scored with 38 off 35 balls, including five fours and a six. Rajesh Pandey scored 24, while Suman Kandel remained unbeaten on 21. For Sagarmatha, Neerson Chitrakar took 2-21 in five overs, while Abhishek, Santosh and Pritam claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Sagarmatha failed to overcome the target and were packed off for 67 runs in 15 overs. Except, Yugdeep Thapa (16) and Roshan Bhattarai (13), others failed to reach the double figure mark.
For Acme, man of the match Suman Kandel took four wickets conceding five runs in five overs, while Dhirendra Mishra pocketed three and Atit Joshi took two.
In the other match, Campion Kathmandu scored 140/8 in 25 overs. Nirajan Bikram Rana scored 34 off 45 balls including four fours while Yalambar Limbu and Mukhiya Gurung scored 15 and 12 respectively.
For Don Bosco, Ashish Gupta took four wickets.
In reply, Kathmandu Don Bosco overcame the target in 23.5 overs losing five wickets.
Man of the match Bishal Thapa scored a quick fire 45 off 43 balls including five fours and a six, while Manish Shrestha and Manoj Shrestha scored 24 and 12 runs respectively. For Campion, Yalambar Limbu took two wickets.
