BHAKTAPUR: Adarsha Higher Secondary School and Rambhakta Memorial English School made it to the quarter-finals of the third TVS Cup Inter-school Invitational Football Tournament here today.

Adarsha edged past Binayak Sikchhya Niketan 2-1. Man of the match Robin Neupane gave Adarsha the lead in the 37th minute before adding his second 10 minutes later. After Binayak failed to convert the penalty kick in the 65th minute, Aman Kumar Khatri pulled back one in the 73rd minute. Adarsha will next take on Baylor International School.

In the second match, Rambhakta dispatched Rajan Memorial International School 3-0. Pradeep Bhochhevya opened the scoring in the 21st minute before Manish Sainju doubled the lead in the 37th and Sajdha Pradhan wrapped up the game with the third in the 62nd minute. Surendra Ale Magar of Rambhakta won the man-of-the-match award. Rambhakta will meet Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya for a place in the semi-finals.

In the other match, Baylor beat Gurukul School 1-0 with Krishna Adhikari scoring the decider in the 30th minute. Bibek Tiwari of Gurukul claimed the man-of-the-match honour.
