Adhikari enters semis
Pokhara, February 19:
Kumar Adhikari made it to the semi-finals of the ninth Nepal Investment Bank Open Tennis Tournament with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Hari Hayu today.
Joining him in the last four were Jitendra Pariyar, Ramesh Karki and Sris Magar. Pariyar beat Shyam Sundar, Karki dispatched Rajesh Chhetry and Magar overcame Mahesh Tiwari in the quarter-finals today.
Priti Rijal also advanced to the semi-finals in the women’s singles defeating Ramita Kapali. Also through to the semi-finals in the women’s singles were Ritu Gurung and Malika Rana. Ritu beat Kanchan Thapa Magar and Malika saw off Bimala Basyal. Advancing to the men’s doubles semi-finals were Kumar /Jitendra, Binod Kayastha/Anil Tulachan, Manoj Rana/Sanu Gurung and Sriram Magar and Ramesh Karki.
Likewise, Anil Tulachan and Ritu Gurung combined to beat Gauri Shanker Shrestha and Kanchan Thapa in the mixed doubles quarter-finals. Joining them in the semi-finals were the pair of Hari Hayu/Priti Rijal, Sanu Gurung/Malika Rana, Ramesh Chhetry/Kalpana Thapa Magar.
Kaski District Association is organising the event in coordination with the All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association.
