Kathmandu, March 31

Prabhakar Adhikari won the title of the first event of the Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Played under stroke play full handicap format, the 22-handicap amateur golfer Adhikari finished the round at four-under 68 nett to finish first. Ang Dendi Sherpa, a 14-handicap golfer, came second with the score of three-under 69 nett, while Devendra Bajgai was third at one-under 71.

Tashi Tshiring won the gross section title with the score of three-over 75, while Wangchen Dhondup was second at four-over 76. Ang Phurba Sherpa lifted the junior category trophy with the score of even-par 72 nett.

In all, 49 golfers took part in the event organised by Gokarna Golf Club under the sponsorship of Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire handed over the prizes to the winners.

A total of 10 monthly medal rounds will be played until December and top 40 in nett section, 10 in gross category and five in junior section

will make it to the Club Championship finals, which will be played over two rounds in January and February next year.
