KATHMANDU, APRIL 9
The Ability Development Society of Nepal (ADSoN) announced the 10th edition of its flagship "We Are All Able" Charity Golf Tournament, scheduled for May 23 at the Gokarna Golf Club.
Marking a milestone edition, the event aims to bring together golfers, corporate houses, development partners and supporters to raise funds and awareness for empowering persons with disabilities through inclusive education, rehabilitation and livelihood opportunities.
Established in 2014, ADSoN has been working to uplift underprivileged children and individuals with disabilities by ensuring access to education, healthcare, vocational training and sustainable income-generating programmes. The annual charity tournament serves as a key fundraising platform to support and expand these initiatives.
According to the organisers, this year's edition will focus on promoting sustainable and inclusive livelihood approaches such as organic farming and vocational skills training, helping persons with disabilities achieve economic independence and social inclusion.
Over the years, funds raised through the tournament have supported more than 100 students with scholarships, provided Braille and tactile learning materials to 315 visually impaired students, and extended nutritional, medical and assistive support to dozens of beneficiaries. ADSoN has also trained 67 persons with disabilities in organic vegetable and poultry farming, with 32 of them currently engaged in income-generating agricultural activities.
