AFC asks ANFA leadership to resolve internal dispute

KATHMANDU: The visiting officials of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) told the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) leadership to hold ANFA's annual general assembly at the earliest in order to resolve disputes in the Nepali football's governing body.

AFC's Director of Member Association and International Relations, Sanjeevan Balasingam, and International Relations Officer Purushottam Kattel met ANFA's acting president, Narendra Shrestha and members of ANFA's executive committee today.

They suggested ANFA to amend its statute if need be to run ANFA smoothly.

In the meeting, ANFA leadership informed the visitors that the four former ANFA officials who moved the Patan Appellate Court after their suspension seeking stay order against ANFA's AGM had to withdraw the case to pave the way for the AGM.

In response, the AFC officials said they would meet the foursome and ask them to withdraw the case, ANFA said in as statement.
