AFC President’s Cup draw out

Kathmandu, March 22:

National League champions Three Star Club will play their first match against Tai Power Company of Chinese Taipei in the inaugural match of the AFC President’s Cup Football Tournament, according to the fixtures released by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) after the draw in Kuala Lumpur, today. Three Star Club president Lalit Krishna Shrestha and general secretary Arun Man Joshi attended the draw ceremony. The tournament will be held in Kathmandu from May 4-14. There will be two matches played everyday. As per the schedules, Three Star will take on Transport United of Bhutan on May 6 and against Regar TadAZg of Tajikistan on May 8. The top two teams from both the pools will advance to the semi-finals, slated for May 12. The winner of the national league champions’ tournament will be richer by $1,00,000 whereas the runners-up will walk away with $50,000. The losing semi-finalists will get $25,000 each. AFC has already allocated $15,000 each to all the participating clubs for the preparation.
