Agrawal wins Nirvana Open golf tournament


DHARAN: Kishan Agrawal scored 39 stableford points to win the Nirvana Open Amateur Golf Championship here at Nirvana Country Club on Saturday.

Birendra Limbu — the one-handed golfer — finished second with the score of 36 points in the tournament played over 18 holes under stableford format with 3/4 handicap allowance. Suman Rai won the best gross category with the gross stableford 32 points. Shushila Rai was the ladies winner with 29 points. while Dr Singa Bahadur Basnyat bagged the best senior golfer's award.

Other winners include Ang Tsering Sherpa (closest-to-the-pin), Rupendra Gurung (longest drive) and Sukra Rai (most birdies). This tournament was organised to promote domestic tourism in the country. Twenty two golfers from Kathmandu flew in here to participate in the tournament. In all, 45 golfers took part in the competition. Chairman of Nirvana Country Club Shashi Ram Bhandari gave away the prizes.
