AIPS-Asia President Qasim in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Asian Sports Press Union (AIPS-Asia) President Muhammad Qasim visited the office of Nepal Sports Journalists Forum on Wednesday.

NSJF President Mahesh Acharya, Immediate Past President Ajay Phuyal, former President Nirajan Rajbanshi, who is also the treasurer of AIPS-Asia, first Vice-president Durga Nath Subedi, Vice-president Sanjeeb Shilpakar, General Secretary Prakash Timalsina among others welcomed Quassim, who is on a three-day Nepal visit.

Qasim said the AIPS-Asia was ready to support the NSJF in every possible way. “We are ready to provide immediate support for the sports journalism training for South Asian countries as well as for the establishment of Media Centre in NSJF,” said the Bahrain national, who is here for the second time in six months. “I am happy to visit Nepal twice within a short period,” he added.

The NSJF had hosted the AIPS-Asia Executive Committee meeting in Kathmandu in July last year.  NSJF President Acharya thanked Qasim for his support in empowering sports journalists. “Apart from training and Media Centre, the NSJF will also have an exchange programme with Bahrain association,” he added.
