KATHMANDU, JULY 27
Nepali swimmer Alexander Gadegaard Shah, who is competing at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, has bettered his national record in the 100 metre freestyle (male) event on Tuesday.
Shah, who is representing Nepal along with Gaurika Singh in swimming at the sporting mega event, broke his own national record of 53.41 seconds as he covered the distance in 55.38 seconds, setting a new national record.
Alex impressed the viewers as he was able to secure first position while competing with six other swimmers in heat 1.
However, 18-year-old Shah's chances of advancing to the semi-finals have ended as the other competitors executed better performance.
