ANFA finalises team

LALITPUR: The All Nepal Football Association announced the 18-member youth team for the AFC U-14 Regional Girls Football Championship to be held from April 26 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. ANFA Technical Director Chiaki Takeda and coach Binod Lama picked the players from the 28-member preliminary squad. Anjana Rana Magar, Dil Kumari Rana Magar, Durga Khatri, Manisha Giri, Pabitra Rai, Punam Ghimire, Purnima Ghising, Rajani Thokar, Rajju Khadka, Roshani Khatri, Sabina Chaudhary, Sajani Thokar, Saloni Rana Magar, Sarita Neupane, Shrisha Karki, Sumitra Sing Pakhrin, Sunu Jimba, and Udaya Thapa are in the team. Binod Lama is the chief coach, while Ashmita Khawas is goalkeeping coach. Nepal, who are in the three-team Group B, will open the campaign with a match against India on April 27 before taking on Bangladesh the next day. Hosts Tajikistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Bhutan are in Group B. Nepal had finished runners-up to Bangladesh in the previous edition held in Kathmandu.
