Ankura win Open Volleyball Tournament

POKHARA: The Ankura Youth Club of Aanbukseri clinched the Open Volleyball Tournament title held to mark the Hindu festival of Hari Talika Teej, in Pokhara on Friday.

A total of 12 teams took part in the event organized by Bagmara Yuva Sangam Group and Anusasit Amaa Group.

The Tallo Pundi team from Namuna Yuva Club became the first runner – up, while the Gandakibensi of Baladevi Yuva Club was announced as the second runner – up, according to Pramod Acharya, the tournament coordinator and Chair of the Yuva Sangam Group.

The winner, first runner – up and the second runner - up received Rs 40,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively as cash prizes along with certificates.

In the same occassion, of Didibahini Amaa Group of Tallo Gagangainda won the Teej Song Competition, whereas Roshani Acharya Group of Bareli Chok was declared the first runner – up in the competition.

Shanti Devi Acharya Group of Pani Tanki was announced as the second runner – up while Nari Uthan Group of Pataneri was awarded a consolation prize, informed Bal Bahadur Nepali, a member of  organiser Yuva Sangam Group.

The winner, first runner – up and second runner – up received Rs 20,000, Rs 12, 000 and Rs 7,000 respectively as cash prizes along with certificates. The Nari Uthan Group of Pataneri team received Rs 3000 as consolation prize.

Meanwhile, Sarita Poudel of Sujata Karki Group received Rs 1500 for the best dance performance in the competition.
