APF end NDA’s 10-match winning run

Nepal APF Club defeated Shivam New Diamond Academy 3-2 to end their 10-match winning streak in the Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Double League Volleyball here today.
APF took the first set 25-20 but NDA bounced back to claim the second one 25-13 and levelled the scores. APF regained the lead after their 25-21 victory in the third set before NDA won the fourth set 25-23 to level the score for the second time and took the match to fifth set.
The departmental side claimed the deciding set 15-12. The APF victory ended NDA’s winning run and maintained their own unbeaten streak in the tournament. APF will play their last match of the first round against Tribhuvan Army Club on Tuesday.
NDA, however, are at the top of the table with 31 points from 11 matches, while APF — the lone unbeaten team of the first round so far — accumulated 29 points to remain at the second position. Nepal Police Club are third with 27 points, while Tops HS School are fourth with 24 points.
Meanwhile, Tops and Eastern Regional Volleyball Association recorded double victories. Tops thrashed Springdale English School 25-11, 25-6, 25-7 and returned to beat Three Star Academy 25-3, 25-10, 25-3. Similarly, Eastern saw off Paramount High School 25-23, 25-23, 25-19 before defeating Springdale 25-21, 25-6, 25-22.
