KATHMANDU: The second Armed Police Force Open Lawn Tennis Tournament is scheduled for November 15 to 20 here at the APF headquarters in Halchowk. The tournament includes men's singles and doubles, ladies singles and veteran's events. The veteran's event is divided into four categories — above 35 years, 45 years, 55 years, 65 years and veteran's doubles. The winners in men's and ladies singles will get Rs 40,000 each while the runners up will receive Rs 20,000 apiece. Also, the winners in the men's doubles event will pocket Rs 15,000 each and runners up will take home Rs 7,500, said the organisers Armed Police Force here at a press meet today. The winners in the veteran's event will also be awarded in the Rs 210,000 event, informed the organisers. The organisers have expected a participation of about 400 players. The tournament is open for anyone including the non-Nepalis, said the Additional Inspector General (AIG) of the APF Thakur Mohan Shrestha.
