SIMARA, MARCH 31

Nepal APF Football Club outplayed Bagmati Youth Club 4-1 and advanced to the final of the 12th Jagdamba Jitpur-Simara Gold Cup here at the Simara Stadium today.

Armand Beadum scored a brace, while Sabin Gurung and Pradip Lama netted one goal each for the departmental side. Anil Rana Magar scored the consolation goal for Bagmati who had stunned defending champions Sankata Club in the quarter-finals.

APF will now face fellow A division outfit, New Road Team in Saturday's final. NRT had defeated hosts Nava Janajagriti Youth Club in the first semi-final match yesterday.

APF took the lead in the 12th minute through Sabin Gurung's goal after he found the back of the nets from inside the box at a time when Bagmati defenders were not alert. The departmental side doubled the tally four minutes later after Beadoum netted his first goal of the match.

Anil Rana Magar reduced the deficit for Bagmati before the break. APF wasted a spot kick in the first half injury time when Bagmati goalkeeper Yves Priso denied Aawash Lamichhane.

APF had earned the penalty after Priso brought down APF's BK Tamang inside the box.

APF, however, restored the two-goal advantage in the 79th minute which effectively sealed their victory.

Beadoum headed home for his second goal of the match.

Pradip Lama then completed the scoring with his side's fourth goal seven minutes from time. Lama was named the player of the match and he earned Rs 5,000. APF made it to their second final in Simara after the second edition when they lost to Himalayan Sherpa Club.
